Rishi Rich – The project ( Music Album Review )

When you see a herd of 520 heads packed together in an area of 500 sq. feet and each head bobbing in a pitifully rhythmic fashion, you ought to respect the source that controls ‘em all! That is the power of Rishi Rich my friend! At times public demand and mass appreciation surely does alter all prejudices.

Each song begins with a ‘dhin-chek dhin-chek’ beat that plays in loop. Then you can add a ‘dhup-dhup’ at intervals. If you get bored after it’s been looped 8 to 16 times, then a Shaggy type rapper-sounding guy will occasionally give you a “Uh-Uh, Ye-Ye”. And oh yes how can we forget the Desi-ness they add for all our NRI brothers who feel ‘at home’ while listening to this music. And mind you, Desi-ness = Bhangra! OK, I’m being harsh. This is good stuff for all Hip-Hop, R&B and Desi music lovers. Great beats and the raags in the beats sound grand. Also, lyrics are in English, Hindi, Punjabi and French! (Two of the four I don’t understand, so ‘not bad’ I say!) Many renowned artists come together in this album – Jay Sean, Juggy D, Rafaqat Ali Khan and more.
